Tony Miller began his career early; He was first licensed at age 16. Hair cutting was his passion at a time when hair teasing and giant up-do’s were all the rage.

He was soon recruited by the only hairstylist in the Dallas/Ft Worth area who was able to do today’s blow dry cuts, Cy Marcus. Cy had just returned from London with the exciting breakthroughs in cutting and blow-dry techniques.

As Cy’s protégé, Tony devoured the knowledge imparted by Cy.

He knew the fast track in hair education was coming from California and perhaps one day cutting a major celebrity’s hair was possible…the dreams of the young.  So, with one suitcase and two hundred dollars Tony landed in Fresno California. He had stopped in to visit an uncle who invited him to stay on their ranch while waiting to take the California State board. His original intention to settle in Los Angeles or San Francisco was thwarted by meeting a lovely young lady who became his wife. The roots began to grow and Fresno became …home.

Tony, being a bit of a creative rebel, was astounded at being the first blow-dry cutter in Fresno. Tony began the arduous task of convincing Fresno women that ‘big stiff hair’ wasn’t needed and that “hair must move”, which became his mantra. Beautiful, shiny and sexy hair that you can run your fingers through was the quest. Hair in excellent condition was of paramount importance.

“Just a fad!” they said.

“No, it is the future!” replied Tony. Tony was right and he still operates with a view to the future.
